The Pantry of Care ministry began in 2004. This ministry was founded to provide frozen meals for members of the congregation in need.
Those 'in need' include, but are not limited to, shut-ins, those undergoing medical treatments, those who are caring for loved ones with medical problems, those just returning home from the hospital, those who are grieving, those with a financial need, those with a new baby, or anyone else who is deemed 'in need'.
The ministry is funded by the sale of pumpkin bread at the Pumpkin Patch. In addition to providing meals, we also bake pumpkin bread for our friends at Thanksgiving, give a Christmas basket of goodies, and bake carrot cake at Easter. What a blessing to be able to deliver meals and visit with those we may not see as often!
We are in the planning stages of a partnership with Grace Campus (formerly Tent City) here in Lubbock. Supplying meals and funding for this project is exactly in line with our mission of providing food to those in need.
Pantry of Care meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
