What to Expect

We are a community of faith that aims to inspire, empower, and be used by God to change lives through prayer and service with the love of Jesus Christ. We believe we are to seek, nurture, and equip one another and others to be surrendered followers of Jesus Christ.

We are a Presbyterian Church, within the Cumberland Presbyterian Denomination. The Cumberland Presbyterian denomination has a socially-progressive tradition. Cumberland Presbyterians were among the first denominations to admit women to their educational institutions and to accept them in leadership roles including the ordained clergy. We were also early to ordain African Americans.  We believe all humanity is created in the image of God and is worthy of love.  We are a global church.

Our worship is traditional, involving hymns and praise songs accompanied by the organ and piano. The pastor and the choir often wear robes. The worship is 'liturgical' or what some call 'high church'. Our theology is sometimes referred to as 'medium theology' or 'middle theology'. We tend to wrestle with the realities of today and the ancient texts that we read understanding the value of diverse thought, ideas, and theology. We do not claim to have all the answers, but we do seek to learn and grow together. We would love to have you join us either virtually or in-person on Sundays at 11:00 am for worship.
